Every now and again I come across a piece of Picasso’s early work and am usually stunned at the quality of the piece. We tend to judge most artist by their most recent works often ignorant of their past journey. It reminded me of a conversation i had with Erik Feely some years ago where i expressed my distaste for Picasso work. Some time later he lent me a book on the artists early work which left me speechless. This piece of the fisherman  painted in 1895 and the one of his mother painted the following year is simply stunning bearing in mind that he was only 14 years old when he painted the first one.
